Eric & Linda Funke

Funke 2020Our missionaries to Tanzania, Eric and Linda Funke, have just completed 7 years of ministry. Adapting to the times, they have uploaded the 45-minute presentation about their ministry (which they would normally have given during the Bible study hour) to their YouTube page—www.youtube.com/EricFunkeGLO (also shown below). We hope you will take the time to learn more about their years of ministry and how you have been a part of it.

Chapel members Eric and Linda Funke served as missionaries in the East of Lake Victoria Diocese (ELVD) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania since September 2012. Linda served in the Department of Planning and Development of the ELVD, helping manage the overwhelming number of grants received and projects undertaken. These programs aid people who suffer from burdens such as HIV, malaria, and poverty. Eric served as a secondary school math, physics and computer teacher at Lutheran schools in Mwadui and Mwanza.

Linda’s previous service in Papua New Guinea solidified her love for international ministry. She has her Masters in Social Work and is a consecrated Deaconess in the Lutheran Church. Eric has felt the Lord’s call to serve Him in Africa since grade school. Eric has a Master’s degree in Mathematics and taught Math and Physics at Lutheran High School North (St. Louis) for the 7 years prior to their mission work in Tanzania.
